Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the site you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you may not use the service. We may revise these terms from time to time; continued use after a revision constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Eligibility and Access

The quizzes are offered for individuals aged 13 and older. Coaches or organizations that introduce the Skill Assessment to athletes must ensure all necessary permissions are in place. We reserve the right to suspend or restrict access to any portion of the site without notice.

Permitted Use

• The quizzes, characters, resources, and related content are provided for personal development and for coaches or organizations facilitating team programming under assigned team codes. Charging participants or reselling access requires prior written permission.
• You may share your results and link to HockeyCharacters.com, provided the link does not state or imply any partnership, sponsorship, or endorsement by Cutting Edge Ice Academy.
• You may not copy, sell, resell, or exploit any portion of the service without prior written consent.
• You agree not to interfere with or disrupt the site, attempt to access systems or data without authorization, or use automated means to scrape or collect information.

Team Codes & Aggregated Dashboards

Team codes allow coaches to group skill assessment results and view aggregated dashboards. Team codes should not include personally identifiable information. Only aggregated statistics (such as averages and participation counts) are displayed—individual responses remain private to the player. Coaches are responsible for obtaining any necessary parental or guardian permissions before requesting that athletes submit results under a team code.

You may download or share aggregated dashboards within your program, but you may not publish individual-level data or use the dashboards to publicly rank identifiable players.

Player and Athlete Data Commitments

• We only process the player or athlete quiz responses necessary to deliver their individual results and the aggregated dashboards associated with a team code they choose.
• Individual quiz responses remain private to the player; we do not reuse them to build marketing profiles, scouting reports, or other performance databases.
• We do not sell, rent, or license personal player or athlete data, and we do not grant advertising partners access to it.
• Coaches and program administrators must ensure that team codes exclude personally identifiable information before sharing them with athletes.

Players, parents or guardians, and coaches may opt out of team dashboards or request deletion of stored player or athlete data at any time by emailing info@edgeiceacademy.com. We will confirm the request and remove the data within a reasonable period.

Communications and Marketing Permissions

When you request a team code, download resources, or otherwise share contact information with us, you authorize Cutting Edge Ice Academy and its subsidiaries (including Hockey Character) to collect, store, and use the names, email addresses, and other details you provide to deliver service announcements, onboarding materials, and marketing communications related to our training programs.

We do not sell personal data or grant third parties the right to advertise to you using your information, and we never use quiz responses or player performance data for marketing purposes. You may opt out of future marketing messages at any time by emailing info@edgeiceacademy.com; we will honor the request within a reasonable period.

Intellectual Property

All content on the site—including artwork, characters, quiz questions, code, logos, and written materials—is owned by Cutting Edge Ice Academy or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, modify, or distribute this content without our prior written approval.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that quiz outcomes reflect actual skills or personality traits, nor do we guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cutting Edge Ice Academy will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages arising from or in connection with your use of the site. Our aggregate liability for direct damages will not exceed the greater of the fees you paid (if any) for the service giving rise to the claim or USD $50.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Cutting Edge Ice Academy, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to your use of the site or violation of these terms.

Opt-Out and Data Deletion Requests

If you wish to withdraw a team code, remove a player's participation from aggregated dashboards, or have personal data erased, contact info@edgeiceacademy.com. We may request information to verify the requester and will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.

Governing Law and Contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict of law principles.
